Dear Transitions Delaware Family,
June has arrived — and with it, the color, the courage, and the community that make Pride month one of the most powerful times of the year.
At Transitions Delaware, we don't just observe Pride. We live it — in every session, every intake call, every affirming space we create for the people who walk through our doors. But June gives us an opportunity to say it louder, celebrate it fuller, and recommit to the work that drives everything we do.
Pride means something different to everyone in our community.
For some it is a celebration — a chance to be visibly, joyfully, unapologetically yourself in a world that has not always made that easy. For others it is a moment of reflection — honoring the pioneers who fought, bled, and sacrificed so that today's generation could dance in the streets with rainbows in their hands. For some in our community Pride is still complicated — a month that feels both electric and exhausting, celebratory and heavy, especially for those still navigating unsupportive families, unsafe environments, or a world that has not yet caught up to who they are.
All of it is valid. All of it belongs here.
Pride was born in resistance. In the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn in New York City, a community that had been pushed to the margins pushed back. Led by trans women of color — Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera among them — that moment of resistance became a movement. A movement that has grown, evolved, and expanded into the global celebration we know today. We honor them not just in June but in every affirming care decision we make every single day of the year.
At Transitions Delaware, Pride month looks like this:
It looks like practitioners who use your correct name and pronouns without being asked. It looks like sliding scale access so that financial hardship is never the reason someone goes without care. It looks like our many groups here like "The Campfire" — our brand new community group for the youngest members of our community — launching this summer because we believe affirming spaces should be for all ages. It looks like our partnership with Longwood Gardens, offering our clients the gift of nature and beauty as part of their wellness journey, because healing happens in many places. It looks like Monday with an Ally Moments because allyship is not seasonal it is buttons and swag and local artists art in our building and a team that shows up not just in June but every single day.
This month we invite you to celebrate with us — loudly, softly, however feels right for you.
Come to our events. Share our content with someone who needs it. Tag a friend who is doing the quiet brave work of showing up for the LGBTQ+ people in their life. And if you have been on the fence about starting your own journey with one of our practitioners — let June be your sign.
You belong here. You have always belonged here.
Happy Pride from your Transitions Delaware family. 🌈💙

Self-Care Spotlight:
Pride month is loud and beautiful and electric. 🌈✨
And it is also okay if it feels heavy sometimes. 💙
For many in our community Pride month brings up complicated feelings — grief for those we have lost, exhaustion from fighting for rights that should never have been up for debate, the ache of families who still don't show up, and the weight of simply existing in a world that is still catching up to who you are.
So this June we want to remind you 💙
✨ You are allowed to celebrate AND rest
✨ You are allowed to march AND sit this one out
✨ You are allowed to feel joy AND grief at the same time
✨ You are allowed to protect your peace even during Pride month
✨ You are allowed to fill your cup before you pour into anyone else
Pride is not a performance. It is not an obligation. 💙 It is yours — to celebrate, to sit with, or to simply breathe through.
However you show up this June is enough. YOU are enough. 🏳️⚧️🌈
