To our Transitions Delaware Family
Hello Beautiful People! ππ³οΈββ§οΈ
Happy July, friends! Can we just take a second to soak in how good this summer feels?
I've been sitting with so much gratitude lately β for this community, for the way you all show up for each other, every new face at Game Night, every quiet act of care that doesn't make it into a newsletter but absolutely makes a difference. You are the reason this all works.
This month feels like the perfect time to say it plainly: thank you. Thank you for trusting this space. Thank you for being unapologetically yourselves. Thank you for showing up for our events, our partners, and for each other, even on the busy days.
It's easy to focus on what's next β the next event, the next milestone, the next thing to build. But today I just want to celebrate what already is. A community that holds space for joy AND struggle. A community that shows up for Cause4Cuts, for Sean's House, for each other's wins big and small. A community that keeps growing because every single one of you keeps choosing to be part of it.
Summer has a way of reminding us to celebrate the good stuff, and there is SO much good stuff happening right now β new connections forming, new chances to gather and just enjoy being together in the sunshine.
So as you read through what's coming up this month, I hope you feel how much you're appreciated. Not just as a "member" of something, but as a genuinely vital part of this chosen family.
Keep shining, keep showing up, keep being exactly who you are. This community is brighter because of you. βοΈπ³οΈββ§οΈ

Recently, we received a desperate call from someone in the Sussex County community who found Transitions Delaware through word of mouth. They were looking for affirming mental health care and clothing that matched who they are.
We were able to connect them with the therapy they needed and provide several items from our Affirming Closet. While we didn't have everything they needed, we knew exactly who to call.
Last year, we had the opportunity to connect with Phoenix Used Clothing, and they immediately stepped in to help. Without hesitation, they provided the clothing our community member needed. Their team was compassionate, responsive, and truly ready to make a difference.
We are so grateful for community partners like Phoenix Used Clothing who remind us that kindness and collaboration can change someone's dayβand sometimes, their life.
If you're looking for a place to donate clothing or recycle textiles, please keep Phoenix Used Clothing in mind. Your donations help organizations like ours support people when they need it most.
Thank you Babita and team!! ππ

Self-Care Spotlight:
βJuly is Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month β a time dedicated to the unique mental health needs of communities of color. For so many in our community who live at the intersection of being LGBTQ+ AND a person of color, self-care isn't a luxury. It's survival, and it's resistance.
This month, our spotlight is on permission. Permission to rest before you've earned it. Permission to say no without a three-paragraph explanation. Permission to take up space in a world that often asks you to shrink, explain, or justify your existence twice over.
So much of what we hear about self-care implies productivity β drink more water so you can do more, sleep better so you can perform better. But real self-care isn't about optimizing yourself for everyone else's benefit. It's about tending to you, simply because you matter β fully, intersectionally, exactly as you are.
