"April Showers Bring Visibility, Growth, and Hope"
April is here, and with it comes the promise of renewal. The winter freeze is behind us, the trees are budding, and the world is waking up to color again.
This month also brings us Trans Day of Visibility (March 31st just passed, but we're still celebrating!), a day dedicated to honoring the resilience, joy, and contributions of transgender and gender-diverse people. While Trans Day of Remembrance in November honors those we've lost, TDOV celebrates those who are here—living, thriving, creating, and refusing to be invisible.
Visibility matters. It says: I exist. I belong. I deserve to take up space exactly as I am.
But visibility isn't always easy. For many trans folks, being seen means being vulnerable. It means navigating a world that doesn't always affirm you, that sometimes questions your existence, that asks you to justify who you are.
So if you're reading this and you're trans or gender-diverse, we want you to know: You don't owe anyone visibility. You don't owe anyone a performance of your gender. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
Your existence is not up for debate. Your identity is valid whether you're out to the world or just to yourself. Whether you're five years into your transition or five minutes into questioning. Whether you "pass" or not, whether you're on hormones or not, whether you've changed your name legally or are still trying it out in your head.
You are enough, exactly as you are.
And for the allies reading this: your job isn't to understand every nuance of gender. Your job is to believe people when they tell you who they are, use the names and pronouns they ask you to use, and show up when it matters.
April reminds us that growth doesn't happen overnight. It's slow, it's seasonal, and it's worth celebrating at every stage.
Let's grow together. 🌱🏳️⚧️
With love and appreciation,
Rev. Karla

Monthly Expressive ART Group is back for April!!
How it works: Choose a quality that would be helpful to you in your life at the moment, such as hope, joy, courage, acceptance, forgiveness, gentleness, etc. Once you have chosen the quality that feels important, write a 4–8-line poem in which every line starts with the word you have chosen, plus the word “is” in the following way.
Hope is…
Hope is…
Hope is…
Hope is…
After completing your 4–8-line poem, read the poem again and create a collage that represents the essence of what the poem is about

Transitions DE Newsletter Dear Transitions Delaware Family, Love in Action: Beyond Hearts and Flowers February arrives with its familiar imagery—red hearts, chocolate boxes, romantic gestures. But what if we expanded our understanding of love beyond the commercial holiday and into something more transformative? What if love became less about a single day and more about the daily practice of showing up for ourselves, our communities, and each other? Love in action is the bridge between good...
Transitions DE Newsletter 2026 Dear Transitions Delaware Family, January arrives like a blank page—crisp, clean, and full of possibility. As we step into 2026, we carry with us something invaluable: the strength we discovered throughout the challenges of 2025. Last year tested us in ways we didn't anticipate. It asked us to dig deeper, stand firmer, and find resilience we didn't know we had. And here we are—not unchanged, but stronger. That strength doesn't disappear when the calendar turns....
